Happy Halloween - 2 days after storm

Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast - up north.... Long Island got hit really bad.  Long Beach is destroyed, Bay Park where Greg's older bother lives was destroyed too  - they are homeless so they are staying with us - at one point we had 12 people in the house(including 2 kids), 8 birds, a huge snake, a dog and 4 birds.  it's been stressful but you do what you have to do.

Frankenstorm is here - almost

Yes the storm/hurricane is almost here and it's huge - 900 miles

I pray we don't get flooded.  the winds really scare me.   the kitties have to be locked in room with me since we have 6 people 4 bits, 4 cats and a dog here.  

Oasis, Palm Springs and big Storm coming!!

I am back from my retreat in Palm Springs with the Shutter Sisters at Ace Hotel - what a great time.  I enjoyed the sisterhood and all the photo ops.  I got to explore downtown Palm Springs by myself.  my roommate Laura was just the best ever.  the whole experience was incredible.
Laura starting talking to this Lady Camille when we were doing tutu photos and she wanted to put one one - she was awesome and after posing for photos said she felt empowered.

I got this photo from her yesterday and I want to shared it - she borrowed the camera from someone to take this photo because she said we inspired her.   She has totally inspired me - the light, the wood, the glass bottle and the note - awesome photo - Camille you rock.

 

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - I had my 6 month Mamo and sonograph done, wore my eco and got a new tshirt - what did you do???

Love and Prayers

Yesterday I got good news that my mamo and sonogram were clear - that's a good thing for someone with Triple negative Breast cancer.  I felt the love when I posted this on FB

I am a warrior and will continue to on my journey to take photos and inspire as many people as I can

I left my story from the Fort Mill Magazine and Breast Cancer Wellness Magazine at the Complete women's center in hopes that someone is inspired. 

Today I am saying prayers for my Aunt Polly that all is ok with her - she had to go have biopsy on back 2 lymph nodes were swollen.  She had Breast Cancer over 25 years ago and has been fine since.

Fall is in the air and NDD

I saw my oncologist yesterday and bloodwork showed NDD - no disease detected!!  Woo hoo!!
Dr. K told me I would be keeping port in for another year and half.  Yuk but I will deal with it.
I love going to see Dr. K and his staff.  I gave the copies of my story in the Fort Mill Magazine and Breast Cancer wellness magazine - I am still so excited I got my story and photos published in both.
Walking home I took some photos of the leaves on the ground - I don't get to see the colors change the way I would if I lived in South Carolina but I do get to see some.  I need to plan a trip to NJ to visit my friend Susan so I can see the leaves at GFS changing or the ones in Princeton.

In eight days I leave for my Photo retreat with the Shutter Sisters.  I am so excited - I need the 5 days of photo taking and sisterhood.  Warm weather will be good too.  Palm trees and cool signs - I am looking forward to taking photos.

Shoes and Flowers

I took some shoes home from the photo studio at work yesterday and when I got home I took photos of them with flowers.  I always love to shoot flowers and shoes that intrigue me - when I can combine the 2 it really makes me happy. 

 

 

I also decided to get creative with my apple and a bottle I bought one Halloween

The Harvest Moon and Family session on the beach

Yesterday afternoon I got to photograph my friends and their baby girl - who had never been to the beach until then.  Little L was so excited to see the said, seagulls and water but didn't like to touch the sand! 

Last night was also the Harvest moon 2nd day - didn't see the moon on the beach but when I was driving home I pulled over to shoot it.
