Time Flies

It's been a year since I was in Palm Springs with a great group of ladies for the Shutter sisters Oasis Camp at the ACE hotel.  I am so glad I went on that trip.  I loved every minute of my time there and the friendships that were made.

I am back from my retreat in Palm Springs with the Shutter Sisters at Ace Hotel - what a great time.  I enjoyed the sisterhood and all the photo ops.  I got to explore downtown Palm Springs by myself.  my roommate Laura was just the best ever.  the whole experience was incredible.
Laura starting talking to this Lady Camille when we were doing tutu photos and she wanted to put one one - she was awesome and after posing for photos said she felt empowered.

I got this photo from her yesterday and I want to shared it - she borrowed the camera from someone to take this photo because she said we inspired her.   She has totally inspired me - the light, the wood, the glass bottle and the note - awesome photo - Camille you rock.

 

Fall is in the air and NDD

I saw my oncologist yesterday and bloodwork showed NDD - no disease detected!!  Woo hoo!!
Dr. K told me I would be keeping port in for another year and half.  Yuk but I will deal with it.
I love going to see Dr. K and his staff.  I gave the copies of my story in the Fort Mill Magazine and Breast Cancer wellness magazine - I am still so excited I got my story and photos published in both.
Walking home I took some photos of the leaves on the ground - I don't get to see the colors change the way I would if I lived in South Carolina but I do get to see some.  I need to plan a trip to NJ to visit my friend Susan so I can see the leaves at GFS changing or the ones in Princeton.

In eight days I leave for my Photo retreat with the Shutter Sisters.  I am so excited - I need the 5 days of photo taking and sisterhood.  Warm weather will be good too.  Palm trees and cool signs - I am looking forward to taking photos.

September is almost here!!

I can't believe it is almost September already - last year at this time I had made it through 3 chemo treatments - dyed my hair bright pink, shaved it off, went through a hurricane and a bad chemo cause throat infection.  
It's beautiful here in NY today - awesome blue sky and nice breeze - I feel fall in the air.  I love fall apple picking, pumpkin craving and this year Palm Springs with the Shutter Sisters!!  Woo Hoo.
Looking forward to the Palm Springs trip - I missed it last year since I was in Chemotherapy but I am ready this year!!! 

Last year for Halloween I was Charlie Brown since I was bald - this year involves the 60's and zombies!!!!   So looking forward to fall.

Shutter Sisters Necklace

Back in 2008 or was it 2009?? I was invited to the Shutter Sisters Snap Happy Hour in NYC. what a great time I had and I met Tracey Clark, who I am so inspired by and a couple of other ladies who I have stayed friends with.

I follow Tracey's blog and the Shutter Sisters website - those ladies inspire me so much and getting to check out the other women photographers who post comments is an inspiration too.

Recently Tracey had this necklace on her sight for sale and I had to get one - I was so excited when it came on Monday - I totally love it.

I am trying to stay motivated and positive even though it's not easy sometimes.
I registered for the Getting thru the Grey class with Vivienne McMaster - can't wait to start that class..... to keep me motivated during the winter months.
I want to attend the Shutter Sisters camp in 2012 so I am saving my money now!! I want it to be a gift to myself for making it through this crazy year with the BC. Hopefully the camp will be on the East Coast but if not I will travel out to CA for it.

I will find out about Radiation on Dec 9 and the Pet Scan - keeping fingers crossed that it shows no Cancer!!!!!
