Back in NY

Back in after 4 great days with Mom and Dad and my Aunt.  Of course mom calls me this morning to tell me my Aunt has been taken to the Hospital - I really need to move back down there to be with them.  Trying to hit the lotto so I have the money to travel back and forth more.

Liberate your Art Postcard Swap - Blog Hop

Last year I signed up for Kat Sloma's Liberate your art Postcard swap and thank goodness I did. I was diagnosed with Breast cancer around the same time and when it was time to start chemo the swap began so I received 6 postcards from 6 wonderful artist.
This year I decided to do it again and wow was it fun - waiting on the postcards to arrive from the great artist again was so much fun and seeing what others got as they posted to FB. I am in the swap for as long as Kat is willing to do it.
below are the postcards I received this year. I have to email the artist I got my postcards from to say thank you and check out their websites or blogs if they gave me the addresses on the cards. This year I also did a after post card swap with 3 wonderful artist - I will post postcards from them another day

My Breast Cancer story has been published

I am very happy to say that I am featured in my hometown Magazine's fall issue – text and photos by me!!
My Breast Cancer story has been published 2x's now (I am also in Breast Cancer Wellness magazine)

Oil and Water for my next exhibit

I started doing oil and water photos after reading about it on the clickinmoms.com blog in 2010.  I was working on these when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May 2011.
I have an exhibit coming up this October and thought about doing some of the photos I took of myself during my journey with Breast Cancer since it is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but then I thought it would be better to do photos I worked on during my journey like the oil and water photos.

D is a Beach baby for sure

I had a photo session with my dear friend Julia and her 1 year old baby D - I love visiting with these girls (lola the dog included) 
We took a walk on the beach before sunset for photos and wow did we time it right.  Baby D loves the ocean and wanted to spend all her time in there.  Her new trick is to put handfuls of sand in her mouth - she didn't like it but kept trying to do it before Julia or I saw her.  silly girl.

Sweet Lady - I will miss you

Just got a call I hate to get - my sweet doggie client Lady passed away today. She was 14 yrs old and had a very good life and family who loved her very much. I am so thankful that I got to pet sit for her one last time. Rest in Peace sweet Lady

I was pet sitting last week for Lady a 14 yr old rat terrier - who looked for her family the whole time I was there.   this is a photo of me and lady - she didn't want her photo taken and kept looking down

 My friend Joy came to visit on Aug 25th to go to Long Beach with me.  I got to take a class in making polymer clay necklaces  - I made all 4 of the necklaces below.

 I am having my journey of being a photographer with breast cancer published in 2 magazines.   One is my hometown magazine Fort Mill Magazine and the other is Breast Cancer wellness magazine.
 I am not a writer so it was hard for me to find the words to put on paper and then trying to go through the photos I have taken over the last year was a challenge.
I am hoping the articles look good and make sense.
